The project is taking place in 34 villages and schools in the Tandjouaré-Dapaong region, in northern Togo. It consists of replacing 34 broken manual pumps with 34 electric pumps powered by solar energy, and the installation of 34 water towers used to store the water that will serve the beneficiaries. This project, at a total cost of $ 290,900.00 will bring clean water to more than 35,000 beneficiaries.

Dear Jean and Fatima,

I know that I wrote to you a few months ago asking for your help in our project to rehabilitate 27 boreholes in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Castlegar, but as a new and extremely interesting project comes to me, I'm coming back to you today to ask for your help again. Your important partnership with our Club has allowed us to be exceptionally involved internationally and we are excited to continue building on these solid foundations.
I come today to offer you a new partnership that would have a truly spectacular impact. This time it would be a $290 900 project that would provide drinking water to more than 35 000 people. Once again, we will be able to count on the assistance of The Rotary Foundation thanks to a grant of $101 500 from it, in addition to a grant of $94 600 from the Government of Canada. However, as access to these grants ends on June 30, I think this is an important opportunity not to be missed.
The amount we are missing is substantial, but your tremendous ability to raise funds leads me to turn to you once more to enable us to undertake such a project. As time is running out to present our proposal to The Rotary Foundation and the Government of Canada, I would greatly appreciate having your response as soon as possible.
