The request:
Good day Mr. Gagnon and Mrs. Lahmami,
Warm greetings to you both. I hope this letter finds you in good health.
A few months ago, Jean-Pierre Beaudoin made a donation to your foundation so that SOPAR could facilitate access to water in the poor villages of India. I am happy to write to you today to tell you that we have completed Mr. Beaudoin's projects. Thanks to his openness to the world and to his generosity, a total of 2 255 people now have easy access to water.
It’s a life-changing gift that will give them better health and hygiene. In these pandemic times - COVID-19 is hitting very hard right now in India - Mr. Beaudoin's projects are also synonymous with better protection against the virus.
The people you see in the photo are among the families helped by Mr. Beaudoin. Like many poor families in India, Rama - the lady in red - lost a child a few years ago due to illnesses linked to the consumption of bacteria-contaminated water. Rama knew that the water she and her family drank was not of good quality but, penniless, she could not do anything but drink this water.
Rama and her family belong to one of the lowest castes in India. The people of his caste have, over time, been left behind. SOPAR is working to change this! We are developing projects and programs that help people of all castes and religions to take charge of their future. Mr. Beaudoin's project makes Rama proud and gives her hope for a better future for herself and for her children.
On behalf of Rama and her family as well as all the members of our team, I sincerely thank Mr. Beaudoin for his gesture of solidarity. Thank you also to you from the Coup de Coeur Foundation who have at heart the development of the poorest communities and who know that a donation for access to water is a concrete investment that breaks the circle of poverty.
Thank you so much,
Janice Aubry
