The project:
The Bala Vikasa International Center
Hyderabad, State of Telangana in India:
In 2013, India approved section 135 of the Indian Companies Act, which stipulates that an investment in social responsibility of 2% of their average net profit should be made annually by Indian companies listed on the stock exchanges and having a figure of business exceeding $ 200 million annually.
Following these regulations, SOPAR immediately understood that this was a great opportunity not to be missed. This law would allow not only the substantial arrival of new development funds but also the opportunity to raise awareness in the corporate sector of the dynamics of community development. SOPAR has therefore decided to create a new development program targeting the corporate sector. Its experience, its skilled and abundant workforce inspired it with total confidence in the undertaking of such a project.
Bala Vikasa, the Indian NGO of SOPAR operating on the ground, therefore decided to build The International Bala Vikasa Center in support of this new program. The program has two major components: The incubation of new social enterprises, and the training of the Indian business community in the implementation of effective community development activities in India.
Following a visit by Mr. Marcel Baril to Hyderabad, in January 2019, this last, who has a lot of business experience in India, decided to invest the sum of $135,000.00 in this great project of total value of $5,000,000.00.
Bravo Marcel and Luce for your exceptional generosity and thank you again for your many donations in the humanitarian field.
