The project:

In the village of Samboko, Sironko region, Uganda: repIn the village of Samboko, Sironko region, Uganda: repair, improvement and expansion of a water distribution system, replacement of broken pipes, addition of 15 water points to the existing 82 and installation of support walls to keep the main pipe in place following soil erosion.
The construction and upgrading of these facilities will be done at a total cost of $199,420.00 CAD and will provide drinking water to more than 12,000 people.

Good day all,

It is with great pleasure that we come to announce that that phase 2 of our Samboko water project in Uganda is now completed. This project, with a total cost of $199,420.00, will provide drinking water to more than 12,000 people. This project had been initiated and led for a long time by the late Bertrand De Cardaillac who did so much for our Rotary Club of Montreal. Thank you Bertrand! On this occasion, we would like to thank Nabil Oudeh of the Rotary Club of Ottawa, a brilliant negotiator who has brought many solutions to the problems that occurred during the implementation of this project. Also, many thanks to our beloved Bette Miller, President of the Rotary Foundation of our District 7040, who has demonstrated exceptional patience and fingering to successfully complete Phase 2 of this project.
