In the village of Surjith Nagar in India, installation of a water purification system and construction of the building that houses it.
The project, with a total cost of $ 14,100, will bring drinking water to more than 1,500 beneficiaries.

Dear Mr. Gagnon and Mrs Langlois, 

I send you my most sincere greetings and I hope you are well.

We have a new request for the installation of a water purification system to share with you.
The request comes from the village council of the Surjith Nagar slum.
We did a needs study in this village and I can tell you that there is a great lack of purified water. The fluoride content of groundwater from which people obtain supplies is 2 times higher than the maximum acceptable level. The vast majority of people in Surjith Nagar do not have the money to buy purified bottled water and are therefore forced to drink water that makes them sick. We have identified several cases of bone and dental fluorosis.
Mr. G.Sadanandam, Chief of Surjith Nagar Council, has submitted a request to our organization which reads as follows:
"As Surjith Nagar's chief of council, I want the well-being of the people of my village. The water we drink makes us sick and we have many cases of people who have severe bone pain. My own 11-year-old boy is having trouble moving around and I'm afraid he can not live a normal life as an adult. We are poor people but the people on the committee and I believe that we deserve access to purified water. Can you help us?''
