In the village of Antapite, Department of Ayacucho, Peru, construction of two gravity water supply systems for both sectors of the village.
The project, with a total cost of $ 121,400, will provide water services to over 275 residents.

Good day Dr Grenier,

I hope you are well.

Jean Gagnon from Fondation Coup de Cœur, with whom we collaborate on many water projects, suggested that I contact your Foundation for a possible partnership.
So here I come to your "Fondation Louise Grenier" requesting an $ 8,000 grant to help us complete the financial package for a gravity-fed water supply project in the amount $ 121,400 in the village of Antapite in Peru. Note that $ 47,000 will be subtracted from the total amount by the contribution of labor and raw materials by the beneficiaries.
The villagers live on their small farming and breeding: cows, chickens, cuyes, etc. They sell the surplus of their production to the markets of Ayacucho.
The purpose of the project is obviously to improve the health and hygiene of the population and to make the life of these farmers easier, mainly that of women. Also, access to clean water allows everyone to recover their dignity.
A drinking water committee has already been formed and the community is willing to provide all unskilled labor, which includes hundreds of hours of work only for digging long trenches for burial of pipes. Several meetings are planned with the committee and the whole community to learn how to use water and talk about hygiene. Two operators chosen by the community will be trained to properly maintain the system and ensure its sustanability. A contract is signed between the community, the District Municipality of Concepción and Alas de Esperanza Perú.
