The project:
In seven schools in Nigeria's Niger Delta region, a water and sanitation system for students and teachers will be put in place.
The project, with a total cost of $ 237,600.00, will provide services to more than 6,000 beneficiaries.
The request:
Dear Fatima and Dear Francine,
I hope you are well.
Following our beautiful and productive meeting at the Rotary International Convention in Toronto last summer, I am going to present you as an attachment to a wonderful hygiene and water project in seven schools in Nigeria.
This project, with a total cost of $ 237,600.00, will provide services to more than 6,000 beneficiaries.
Girls frequently drop out of school due to lack of menstrual hygiene facilities. Improving WASH facilities at these schools will have a significant impact on school attendance, overall health, and behavior change through education and adoption of improved practices.
Collaboration has been developed with Rotary District 9142 and a local NGO, Foundation for partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta. A district team was put together, and local clubs were given an opportunity to nominate schools in their area needing WASH services with whom they have relationships.Together, PIND, Rotary Club members and school leadership undertook full needs assessments and developed a plan.
Recognizing the importance of behavior change in sustainable WASH programs, hygiene training will be provided to teachers and students through the WASH club on multiple occasions. Collaboration with teachers and school leadership will ensure that plans are in place to properly maintain all WASH systems (toilets, hand washing stations, water supply, filters (if any) and for regular use of the facilities as part of school activities.

Thank you so much for your important financial participation in this project so vital to the future of a multitude of children in difficulty.
Looking forward to an upcoming meeting.
