The project:
Visual screening test offered to 460 students at Carillon Elementary School, Longueuil.
The request:
February 28, 2018
Attention:
Mrs. Fatima Lahmami Langlois and Mr. Jean Gagnon,
My name is Sophie Lessard, Director of the Carillon School, Marie-Victorin School Board on the South Shore of Montreal.
Last year, I had the pleasure of receiving optometrists sponsored by your Foundation who came to screen the students of the Mgr-Forget school.
This year, I changed school and wondered if it was possible to still benefit from your help? Carillon Elementary School, of which I am the Director, has 460 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Our deprivation index being rated 9 according to the Ministry of Education, our students are at high risk of academic difficulty and dropping out. We also host 9 special classes including 7 groups of students with ASD and 2 classes of multiple disabilities. We are aware that the Coup de Coeur Foundation is undertaking, under the direction of Dr. Claude Chagnon Optometrist, a screening program of the eye diseases. As we are well aware that many of our students do not do such screening, as recommended annually for children, we would be interested in being part of the schools that will have the opportunity to participate in this program.
We look forward to hearing from you with great enthusiasm.
Thank you in advance for your interest in our request.
Sophie Lessard
Director
