Dear Jean and Fatima,
Once again, I am coming to your financial assistance for a water supply project in Panama.
The Rotary Club of Gananoque has applied for a grant to Rotary District 7040 to drill a well in the community of Santo Domingo de Guzman in the village of San Pablo in Panama. Our District informs us that our project could be approved in October when funds become available. We plan to provide quality drinking water to this village. The well will be drilled to a depth of 120 feet and will use pipes 8 inches in diameter. We will install a submersible pump and a system of chlorination and pumping water to the village tanks. We have been very satisfied so far with the work done by Patrick McKittrick, Rotary Club David in Panama and it is Patrick again who will be the mastermind of this project.
This project will provide drinking water to 102 homes and will benefit 498 people.
The total cost of the project is $ 20,700, we are asking our District 7040 for $ 11,040 and my Rotary Club in Gananoque has pledged $ 2,560, which leaves us with $ 7,100 to raise.
I hope that your Montreal Club, the Louise Grenier Foundation and The Coup de Coeur Foundation will be able to help us complete the financial package for this project, which is of great importance.
Thank you for your usual cooperation.
