Hello Jean and Fatima,
My name is Pascal Delater and I am a member of the Rotary Club of St Germain en Laye (District 1660, France).
According to the information in my possession a few months ago, During a contact with Eau sans Frontières Internationales, your Rotary Club had agreed in principle to financially contribute up to A Thousand Canadians to the ESFI project in Raha in Niger, a project in partnership with Eau Vive.
The Rotary Club of St Germain had wished to be pilot of this project in memory of one of its members Michel Grondin, former President of ESFI, deceased in 2016 and had allocated Ten Thousand Euros for this realization.
But the situation has evolved since the decision to launch Project Raha: The recommendations of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding displacements in the Sahelian zone and more particularly in Niger, made impossible the displacements on the projected site in Niger.
Water without Borders International, in connection with Eau Vive, has retained another location, located in Togo: Kara region which has 4,820 inhabitants.
The aim of the Kara Eau project is to provide access to water and sanitation for the 300 students in 3 schools (3 boreholes + pumping equipment), to raise the awareness of the population at large. hygiene and build 60 family latrines that will benefit 600 people.
The project also includes an important training and awareness component, which corresponds to the requirements of the Rotary International Foundation, whose assistance is sought.
You will find attached a descriptive document of the project Kara -Togo drafted by Eau Vive and an ESFI note detailing the project content and its detailed financial characteristics.
In summary, the total to be financed is $ 95,000.
Funding opportunities identified to date are $ 90,000 and the balance to be funded is $ 5,000.
Your participation, transposed from the Raha project is included for $ 1000 Canadian, subject to your confirmation.
I would be grateful if you could confirm to me if we can always count on your financial participation for the Kara-Togo project and remain at your disposal for any further information.
Best regards
Pascal Delater
