The request:

Good morning Mr. Gagnon and Fatima. I hope you are well.
We received today, news of 4 projects of Marcel and Luce Baril.
It is always a pleasure for me to see the pictures of the projects and to see in which villages they were built. Each time, I am surprised to see the poverty that reigns in the villages. Each time, I am also very touched to see people's eyes and their smiles.
All projects have their story.
Let me tell you about the well construction project in the Harijanawada Colony village. The name of the village comes from the word Harijan, it's the name given to people who belong to one of the lowest castes in India. Only people of this caste would dare to live in this village.
Thirupathaiah is the village chief and he is the one who made the request for the well construction project. I am told that Thirupathaiah, despite his lack of education, is a quick-witted man who wants the good of people. In his application to SOPAR for the construction of a well at Harijanawada Colony, he wrote:
'Many communities close to us have a well and I think we deserve to have one too. It is not because we are poor that we are not allowed to live decently. People in my village have to walk for two hours a day to get access to water. I am a father of two children. My boy often has to stay home and miss school because he is sick because of the contaminated water that he drinks. As a village chief, I would like to have your help. If you accept, we will show everyone how well we will take care of the well and I am confident that our health will be better. This hand pump will change everything to our living conditions.
Each project has its own story ... And each project brings pride and unity to the villages; improves the health of villagers and gives them hope for a better future.

From Thirupathaiah and all the other people who have benefited from your support, thank you.
