The project:
In the village of Mission Kallali in India, installation of a water purification system and construction of a building that houses it.
These facilities will provide drinking water to 2,180 beneficiaries at a total cost of $ 14,100
The request:
Dear Mr. Gagnon and Mrs. Lahmami,
I'm writing today to follow up on your Grundfos donor's project.
The project went well and as you can see from the pictures I sent you, the Mission Kallali community now has access to purified water.
What the photos do not say are the stories of people touched by the generosity of Grundfos Canada.
Let me tell you about Aruna's story.
Aruna has lived in Mission Kallali since birth. She is of the caste we called not so long ago, untouchables. The people of this caste are extremely poor, are often illiterate and have very little power in their village.
Aruna is part of one of our women's groups and over time, she has gained self-confidence and is now acting as a leader in her community. My colleague in India told me that he had met Aruna and that she had told him this:
''My name is Aruna. I am a mother of two young children and I am a widow. I can not afford bottled water for my children. I see people around me who are suffering because their children are sick. There are also some who die because of infections caught in the water. My kids are healthy right now but I'm scared for them and for me. If we could have a water purification system in our village, our life would be so much easier, we would hope to stay healthy'' .
Un projet comme celui-ci change la vie des gens et transforme les communautés!
A project like this changes the lives of people and transforms communities!
Thank you Grundfos Canada.
