The project:
Visual screening offered to 630 students at Alphonse-Pesant Elementary School, Saint Leonard.
The request:
Mr. Jean Gagnon and Mrs Fatima Lahmami Langlois,
My name is Annie Charlebois and I am the assistant director of École Alphonse-Pesant. Our school is located in the Saint-Léonard district of Montreal, on the territory of the Pointe-de-l'Île School Board.
Our school has nearly 630 students, from kindergarten to Grade 6. Our deprivation index is 10 according to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEES), the highest. Our students are therefore at very high risk of experiencing learning difficulties and / or dropping out.
We were informed that Fondation Coup de Coeur , under the direction of Mr. Claude Gagnon, optometrist, is undertaking a screening program for eye diseases.
Since we know for a fact that many of our students will not be able to do this screening, even if it is recommended to do it annually for children, we would be very interested in being part of the schools that will participate in this program.
Pending a favorable response, we thank you for your interest in this request.
Annie Charlebois
