Dear Jean and Fatima,

Thank you again for your continued support in the development of many projects in partnership with SOPAR. Your actions benefit thousands of people in a most urgent need and in a truly precarious situation.
It is with great hope that I am writing today to ask for your support for three new projects.
We are currently solicited by three communities that have urgent drinking water needs. As you already know, many villages in India still do not have access to safe drinking water and millions of villagers suffer from diseases related to the consumption of contaminated water.
Concerning your desire to install filtration and water supply systems for the Gilles Trudel family, here is a summary of what we propose:
Details of the three projects:
1- Installation of a water purification system in the village of Ghanapuram, India. Person in charge: P. Yesubabu, elder of the village. Problem: Fluorine in water above maximum accepted concentration.
2- Installation of a water purification system in the village of Kathepalli, India. Chief of the village: Swamy. Problem: Fluorine in water above maximum accepted concentration.
3- Construction of a well in the village of Janardhan, India. Person in charge: Damodhar Reddy, member of the development committee. Challenge: Villagers have to walk long distances to get water.
Here is the request of the head of one of the villages, representative of the needs of the three villages:
"The situation in our village is very difficult. The water we drink is dangerous to our health but we are forced to drink it because we do not have money to buy purified water. The rich people of the village have this possibility but not us, the poor. I appeal to you today so that all of us, rich and poor, may have health."
P. Yesubabu, elder of the village of Ghanapuram.

I sincerely thank you for the support you have given us so far and I hope that we will continue to work together for the well-being of the world's poor for many years to come.
