The Project:
Installation of 3 water purification systems in the Indian villages of Paruvella, Therban and Mogha. Thanks to this project, which had a total budget of $10,000, more than 4000 people will now have access to potable water.
The request:
Dear Luce and Marcel,
Further to our meeting last week, here is our proposal for your participation in a water project.
Since you would like to provide services in India, we recommend the non-governmental organization (NGO) SOPAR out of Gatineau which is extensively involved in India and would be the project manager for establishing such an endeavor.
SOPAR was founded 40 years ago by André Gingras, a former Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) employee and by his wife Angèle who is a native of India.
To date, SOPAR has drilled more than 6000 wells and installed hundreds of water purification systems in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in the south of India, not to mention their significant involvement in numerous other areas. We have worked with them for the last five years and recommend them highly.
I also would like to highlight the fact that in 2016, SOPAR received the Velan Award which is given out every year by the Rotary Club of Montreal to an NGO that has done exceptional work.
To learn more about SOPAR, you can consult their website by clicking on the following link: http://www.sopar-balavikasa.org/
If you were to begin by investing $10,000 into the installation of 3 filtration systems that would offer potable water to approximately 4000 people, we are confident that you will be impressed by the impact and the results of the project.
Once you've made your decision, could you please get back to us to ensure we take the necessary measures to move forward with the project.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
Jean and Fatima
