The project:

For a total cost of $ 93,346.00, installing a water filtration system with solar energy and a set of latrines with septic tanks for the 200 students in tourism and catering to Ak'Tenamit Training Center in Guatemala . These facilities also provide services to 50 members of staff of the organization and the work will be performed free of charge by Engineers Without Borders in Chicago.

To: The 24 Rotary Clubs and humanitarian organizations that participated in the setting-up of a system bringing clean water and latrines to beneficiaries of Ak'Tenamit Training Centre in Guatemala.

What started out as a $35,000.00 project with a pledge of $5,000.00 by two Rotarians, Mr. and Mrs. Gagnon of the Coup de Coeur Foundation in Montreal, has grown to a $93,346.00 project with a water system, restroom, septic system and solar panels to provide much needed extra solar electric power for the girl's dormitory, computer lab, clinic, administrative offices and dental boat at Site 1.  A.J. Vohn, the team leader of the Engineers Without Borders that designed the project raised $8,600 from clubs in Illinois.  The total contributions of the Rotary Clubs and Fondation Coup de Coeur are $23,000.00 with the district (DDF) matches of $25,148 and the World Fund match of $39,498 the total budget is $93,346.
