Good morning Mr. Bongao,

My name is Jean Gagnon, Rotarian Rotary Club of Montreal, Canada. I run a small private foundation (Coup de Coeur Foundation) whose mission is to provide safe drinking water to the poorest, who don't have access to it, by supporting water projects in many countries around the world.
An NGO from South Carolina, United States,  is offering me many water filtration systems, located on the Iloilo island, in Philippines. Those filtration systems are worth around $25,000.00 each, but I could get them for free. Each of those systems can give water up to 3,000 people.
We would be interested to install about six to twelve of those filtration systems in big villages or in small cities, in Philippines, who would need them.
Also with my Montreal Rotary Club, we would be interested to set up a project of about $50,000.00, to install those water filtration systems, under the cover of a Global Grant. The Montreal Rotary Club could be the international club, and we are looking for a host club to put together the project.
Would you know a responsible and competent Rotarian that could drive this project, and a rotarian Filipino club that could be the host club for this project?
Having those almost new water filtration sytems for free is an opportunity we would be sorry not to take benefit of.

We hope to get a positive answer.

Thank you for your collaboration,

Jean Gagnon
President

Good afternoon Mr. Gagnon,

Thank you very much for your offer!!!
It would be really a big help to our schools and communities without potable drinking water.
They either have to buy the expensive bottled water if they can afford it otherwise, they have to walk for a long distance to fetch water.
I will bring this out to our Club in our first meeting next year.
But please do give me additional information our members might ask;
-1 In your email you mentioned the water systems offered are located in Iloilo? The materials are already installed there in Iloilo?
-2 You also mentioned these are almost new water filtration systems, meaning these has been used? Used in Iloilo?
-3 For communities, is there a minimum population, 3,000?
-4 If location is public school, can it be either elementary (primary) or high school (secondary)? Is there a minimum student population?
-5 Will the system include (if necessary) the deep well and pumps, storage tanks, piping systems to individual homes (for community location).
- 6 Can it be turned over to a local government unit for operation, maintenance and sustainability or an NGO is needed?
And last, just out of curiosity, where did you get my Rotary email address?
Again, thank you very much for your offer. I will consider it a valuable Christmas gift to our Club.
