Additional information:
Many members of the Rotary Club of Ste-Foy under the direction of Jacques Bossinotte visited repeatedly Flores Island in Indonesia and after many meetings with the Rotary Club of Bali Seminyak decided to provide running water to 10 villages of the Island by building a dam retention, installing a water filtration system, building a reservoir and extending the piping required for the transport of the water to these 10 villages.
Each village will have its own management committee that will oversee the training of persons in charge of maintenance, repair facilities and those in charge of collecting funds which will ensure the sustainability of the project.
Providing them with clean drinking water will significantly reduce illnesses linked to water unfit for consumption, increase class attendance of students and liberate women from the hard work of carrying water, which allow them to access other activities.
