The project:

Construction of a cement water tank with a capacity of 95000 liters to serve 400 people in a school of trades in Tanzania.

The request:

Hello Jean and Fatima,

I hope you are doing well.

First, I wish you a Happy New Year 2016, health, energy and success in all your aid projects to the needy as well as to your  "Fondation Coup de Coeur ". My best wishes to your family too!
I put a lot of time to send you this "water project", especially because of the works that were not yet completed for our small school. The school building is now completed and the field is ready.
I very much hope that my project dear to my heart gets your financial support.

Thank you for your attention and for your patience.

Take care!

Here is the water project:

The name of our village is Mwandoya, located four-and-a half hours south of Mwanaz, in northern Tanzania. It is an impoverished little farming village of several thousand inhabitants, and has serious water problems.
Here at the mission, our only water resource is the rain water collected from the roof of the church and of the house, which is then kept in cement reservoirs (see pictures). During the dry season, when water is lacking, or when we have groups at the mission needing water, we go to the river in a 4X4, located approximately one km away (see pictures). We had an evaluation done in preparation for a drilling, but it was too costly (almost $100,000) and too risky (possibly undrinkable salt water). It is one of the major problems of our village.
Relevance:
This project has been initiated by the local community, which has made a commitment to participate. The school is located over 100 meters from the church and the house and the water in our tanks is insufficient. We have many young drop outs in the village who are looking for a job.
Setting up:
Our young Kenyan priest, Joesphat, as well as a local team of experienced entrepreneurs, will be in charge of the construction on-site and of the follow up (see estimate). I will be supervising on site myself, with an Irish Father, Mick, who has been in Tanzania for 22 years. He has already done this type of construction and speaks Kiswahili fluently. In case of any problems, he will advise me.
Impact:
The young dropouts will be able to study even more and learn a trade. Needless to say, a water supply for the school is essential. The number of beneficiaries is estimated to be 400 people (see estimate).
Sustainability:
Being located on the site of the mission, there will always be people in charge to ensure the lasting quality of the project.
