Providing water by gravity to the hamlet of La Laguna Duyusupo, San Marcos Honduras.

Hello Jean, hello Mrs. Fatima,

You will find enclosed a project that we recently received from one of our partners, the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of San Marcos (COCASAM)in Honduras. 
This cooperative has decided, about 5 years ago, in addition to looking after the interests of its members (of small coffee producers in San Marcos), to act as social worker for the development of certain poor communities in the surroundings of San Marcos. To date, the COCASAM has presented Jumelage St-Félix three projects that we have financed, and the written reports as well as the financial reports were delivered on time. This led us to have total confidence in COCASAM.
Today, COCASAM presented a water problem in a small community "La Laguna" which has virtually no service. The attached project involves:
1) the construction of a water intake near a spring,
2) the construction of a distribution tank,
3) the purchase of pipes to carry the water to 17 different families living in this hamlet (85+ people).
Note in the budget that the community of La Laguna will provide a value of 14,760 lempiras equivalent to $ 868.20 Cdn. This represents 22% of total project cost.
Please find attached the contract with M.Padilla owner of the water source that allows the usufruct of a part of the source that he owns.
The total cost of $ 3,088.79 for this project exceeds current financial possibilities of Jumelage St-Felix, that's why we asked the organization Secours Tiers-Monde a contribution of thousand (2000) $ which was granted us end of November 2015 meeting.
As we are missing $ 1088.79, we would like to ask your Foundation to provide us with the support we need to complete the financing of this project, depending on your availability, allowing us to complete the financing of this project. St-Felix Twinning then complete the missing amount.
