The project
Insatallation of Mechanical Cow (soy cow) that produces soy milk and solid byproduct called okara.
The request:
March 28, 2015
From: Narayan Murarka
To: Jean Gagnon et Fatima Lahmami Langlois
My name is Narayan Murarka, Past President of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club, and Global Grants Chair of the Dist. 6440 Foundation Committee.
My club has been pursuing several Global Grants for the last four years in Guatemala. Our partner club is Club Rotario Guatemala Sur with PDG and RID Nominee Jorge Aufranc (that we have as a common friend) as our primary contact.
We have initiated a new Global Grant application related to “Mechanical Cow” that provides protein rich soy milk to infants and elementary school children to ensure daily intake of protein to prevent diseases and malnutrition. With the solid by-product, okara, the objective is to develop a micro-enterprise business where local indigenous women can make and sell protein rich okara based baked goods to generate income. A Vocational Training Team led by the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club will train local indigenous women related to the micro- enterprise business development.
As you know, partnership is an element of Global Grant necessary to raise club cash and DDF to finance such grants.
This email is to explore the possibility of your Fondation Coup de Coeur, your club or district’s interest in such a partnership.
Please confirm as soon as possible if you have an interest in this project and if so, what would be your contribution?.
Just recently in January 2015, we installed two new Mechanical Cows in Sumpango. Please refer to the video above, related to the inauguration of these machines.
Best regards,
Narayan
