Hello M. Gagnon and Fatima,

Mr. Y. Mohan, our field Program Coordinator, shared with us the following information: Several years ago, Rasoolpally village elders approached Bala Vikasa requesting a water plant. Unfortunately, at that time, thevillage fell short of the project's eligibility criteria due to a smaller number of families.
However, in 2023, they returned to reapply, emphasizing their urgent needs and highlighted that the number of households had increased since their initial application. Prior to this project, villagers had to travel 2 kilometers to access water from another water purification plant. After conducting a feasibility study, the village met the necessary criteria and gained approval.
Community showed their commitment by contributing required membership fees. The community raised local funds, constructed a room required for installing the water purification plant. Their participation showcased a strong understanding of the significance of community participation. A Water Committee was formed with the President M. Samaiah, Director Mahesh, and Treasurer Rama Devi. The elected committee undergoes training for efficient project management, fostering community ownership and initiating gradual development.
Our sincere thanks to the entire Fondation Coup de Cœur team and the generous donors Marcel and Luce for their ongoing support and partnership.

Best regards
Shobha Singareddy,
Director
