The project:

In the two villages of Maltummeda and Ankushapur in India, installation of two water purification systems and construction of the buildings that shelter them. Also, in the village of Mallapur #1, India, digging a well and installing an India # 2 hand pump.
The project, with a total cost of $ 29,100.00, will bring drinking water to more than 4,770 beneficiaries.

Hello Mrs. Lahmami and Mr. Gagnon,

I come to you today with good news!

4,770 poor and marginalized people in south-east India now have an easy and affordable access to water with 2 new complete water filtration systems and the digging of a well that have been funded by Mr. Marcel and Mrs. Luce Baril, very generous donors of Fondation Coup de Cœur and by the same of SOPAR.

I give the floor to Pratap Reddy, Bala Vikasa's water access program officer  (our Partner in India) to describe the situation he is experiencing every day:

"Working for Bala Vikasa for more than 10 years, I go every day to villages in difficult situations, sick children because they drink contaminated water; women and men in precarious situations who are doing their best to feed their children properly; children and adults with disabilities due to water that contains too much fluoride (photo attached).
I can see the great benefit of projects like those of Mr. and Mrs. Baril. These projects bring hope for a better life to the villagers who have a concrete and direct impact on their health and well-being. These villagers are actively involved in the project, giving their time, energy and making a small financial contribution. In the end, these projects make them proud and autonomous while allowing them to realize that they can change their situation. All of this would not be possible without the valuable support that you bring us.
