The $ 143,000.00 total project will provide services to more than 2,400 beneficiaries.

The request:

Dear Jean and Fatima,

First of all, I would like to thank you warmly for the important financial support you have given us in the three rainwater harvesting projects in 5 villages in Peru.
The success that we have obtained in the three projects allow me to believe that again you will want to participate financially in a new project.
This time, our objective is to provide nutrition and health training utilizing a multi-pronged approach that will improve health outcomes for twelve communities in the Fernando Lores District of Peru (approx. 2400 people).
The on-the-ground community training will occur at each of the 12 communities, where all community members (with special emphasis on mothers of school children), including school teachers, will receive training in proper nutrition, composting, and cooking techniques to improve the health outcomes of their families.
To ensure the sustainability of this project, two volunteer Health Workers from each of the 12 villages will be given extensive training, prior to the community training, on basic nutrition and health care, focusing on child and maternal health, including midwifery. These volunteer Health Workers will then take part in the Community Training sessions at their own communities along with other professional Nutrition Educators.
By training the “trainers”, who will spread the education throughout their communities, the effects will be both multiplied and sustainable, as the teachers and mothers both model and teach their children in proper health and nutrition.

Hoping that this project will meet your aspirations in the international humanitarian field which, as we know, is so important for your Rotary Club and your Foundation.
We are waiting for the response of your participation in a new partnership with a lot of optimism.

Best regards
