The project:

In the village of Khokana, located 10 km from Katmandu, Nepal, 150 women will be provided with vocational training in the field of food, health and education skills to enable them to provide for their families. The goal is to make them autonomous.
The project, with a total cost of $ 53,000, will provide humanitarian assistance to more than 1 000 people in this village wich has more than 7 000 inhabitants.

The request:

Hello Jean and Fatima,

I hope you are well.

As a result of our telephone conversation today, I will include as an attachment the proposal we are about to send to the Rotary Foundation for a Gobal Grant.
What brought us to this project is the following:
During the massive earthquake in Nepal in 2015, 550 of the 900 houses in the village of Khokana were completely destroyed and another 307 were partially damaged.
You will understand that after this event, the villagers found themselves completely deprived of essential things. They, therefore appealed to the Khokana Women Awareness Society seeking their help.
This organization has the experience and the will to help them get back on their feet, but does not have the financial means to achieve this. This organization has called on us to help them carry out a project.
In short, it would be a matter of teaching 150 women the establishment and operation of community gardens to meet their food needs, as well as teaching them hygiene practices and methods of water catchment and filtration to ensure their long-term health. Also, the project will help bring schools back into operation so that children have access to education as soon as possible.
The project has a total cost of $53,000.00. We will receive a global grant from the Rotary Foundation of $20,000.00, a grant of two Rotary Districts totaling $7,000.00, and a Canadian Government grant of $11,500.00 for a total of $38,500.00, which will leave us to raise a total of $14,500.00.

I sincerely hope that you will take a financial participation in this project and that we will be able to work together to help this very distressed people.

Pending your decision, we remain confident in obtaining a positive response from you.
