Jean GAGNON, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
We are a Franciscan Missionary Fraternity based in Quebec and Cameroon in Africa. Our Community was implemented in Africa in 2000 at the request of the Bishop of Nkongsamba. We have established a mission in Melong II (12 kilometers from Nkongsamba) and built a house of training for young men who wish to become Franciscan missionaries. At the request of the Bishop, we also built and animate a spiritual healing center and pastoral training for the entire diocese. Such a center did not exist in the territory before. Since that time, there are now 20 Franciscan Brother missionaries who are involved in the mission, and a number of other young men are preparing themselves. In addition, we have 95 external members (secular) and around sixty friends associated with our Fraternity who engage in their parish and in their social environment in order to improve the situation of the population and, according to our charism and specific mission: the evangelisation of youth and the help of society’s less fortunate.
I would like to thank the Fondation Coup de Coeur for their donation of $ 2,500 in 2015 which allowed us to dig a well in the Bayon part of the village of Melong II. This well enabled hundreds of residents to get access to good drinking water, THANK you again.
For the year 2016, we seek your help again in order to dig another well. This time it is in Bangangté, another district of Melong II, located a few kilometers from the center and over a kilometer away from the well we dug in 2015. This neighborhood has a population of about 1,000 people who have no access to drinking water. A well would be essential to ensure a better life for the people living in this neighborhood. There is also a school of about 300 children located 150 meters away.
The cost of a drilling including the cement board and the manual pump is valued at $ 7,000.
The MINTA-St-Bruno Organization has agreed to donate an amount of $ 2,500 and we seek the support of your Foundation by asking for a donation of $ 2,500.00. Our community should be able to gather the remaining amount in order to ensure the execution of this project of building a well for the neighborhood Bangangté in Melong II.

THANK YOU for considering our request, and I am always available should you need any further information.

Sincerely,

Fr Denis-Antoine LÉVESQUE, F. E.
Minister brother (International Superior)
