Good day Jean and Fatima

The Rotary Club of Port Isabel and its international committee to which I belong are to put on feet a water supply project in the village of Barrio in Honduras.
This project will serve a population of 3,000 villagers and will have a total cost of $ 35,000.
We know that your Foundation support numerous water projects worldwide.
As our club is small and its financial resources are limited, we wonder if you could give us financial assistance to support our noble cause.
A positive response from you would be greatly appreciated and certainly strengthen the ties between our Rotary family.
Hoping to receive a positive response from you.

Your Rotarian friend.

Project summary:

The river that is being used actually is no longer sufficient to community needs.
An engineer has been hired to identify an alternative river that could meet the needs of this community in order to provide water daily to each household.
This river was found 1.8 mile away from the village. We can now count on a reliable source of water for their drinking water. We'll build a dam on the river and install a sediment filter and piping in the forest for a distance of 1.8 mile. Thereafter, we will build in the village a water tank with a capacity of 50,000 gallons to  which we will add a central chlorination system. The new system will supply water to the entire Barrio 24 hours a day during the rainy season (October 1 to February) and for 5 hours per day for each sector during the dry season (March 1 to September) with nine hours of replenishment during the night. (The engineer confirmed there was enough water to achieve these results. User fees will be charged to the beneficiaries and the money raised will be used  to pay a hygiene specialist to monitor the water quality and to teach families hygienic measures related to the use of this water. Also these revenues will pay the repair and maintenance costs of the entire system.
The water system in place will be managed by a Board of Directors of the village of Barrio and the council will also ensure governance and the sustainability of the facilities.
